✨📸 From Ag Day to Picture Day to puzzle masters! 🧩
It’s been a busy few weeks for Mrs. Johnston’s 4th graders! Earlier this month, students enjoyed Ag Day and all the hands-on learning that came with it. 🌱🐄 Last week, they were looking absolutely dazzling for Picture Day! 📸✨ And this week, they put their teamwork and problem-solving skills to the test with a fun puzzle challenge. 🧩💡
So many great moments of learning, exploring, collaborating, and having fun! 💛
🌊Miss Laughlin's 6th grade scientists played the Ocean Currents Game to model how energy moves between the ocean and the atmosphere. Students followed the path of an ocean current, rolled the probability cube, and transferred energy tokens at each stop to work toward equilibrium.
Hands-on learning made the connection between ocean currents, energy transfer, and Earth’s climate system come to life! 🌎💧⚡

From showing kindness and respect to helping others, making good choices, or working hard to achieve academically, these students are leading by example. 💙 Each week, students who receive a Positive Referral get to see their name on our referral board, receive a special award from Mrs. Frieden, and choose a prize from the prize cart! 🎉🏆
Parents, this is a great conversation starter for the weekend! Ask your student:
💬 “How did you contribute positively to our school culture this week?”
And if they’re having a hard time thinking of something, ask:
💬 “What is one way you could make a positive difference next week?”
Small actions can have a big impact! We love seeing our students recognize that they each have a role in making our school a welcoming, respectful, and positive place to learn.

🍎👩🍳 Throwback to last Friday, when we caught some glimpses of a couple students rocking their "Jr. Cooks' Day!" 🎉
These two students chose to serve in the kitchen as a reward for winning their class's weekly Respect Bucks Raffle, and they did an awesome job helping out our cafeteria team! We loved seeing them get hands-on experience and be part of the action. 💙🍽️

Miss Cassidy’s 4th graders took on a drawing challenge! They had just two minutes before switching pictures and adding their own creative touch. 🔄🖍️
It was so fun to see how each drawing changed and how the groups’ ideas came together...or didn't! A great way to practice creativity, flexibility, and teamwork while having a little fun! 🥰🎨👏

Our students had an educational day at the 2026 Progressive Agriculture Farm Safety Day, hosted by the Warren-Henderson Farm Bureau!
Students rotated through a variety of hands-on stations, learning important lessons about farm and equipment safety, emergency preparedness, animals, and more. Each station provided an interactive way for students to build knowledge and develop skills that can help keep them safe on the farm and in their everyday lives. 👩🌾
A big thank you to the Warren-Henderson Farm Bureau and all of the volunteers and presenters who made this valuable experience possible! We appreciate everyone who took the time to teach, encourage, and engage our students. 💚

We need your help keeping our students safe on their way to and from school. Recently, we’ve observed students riding bicycles in the middle of the road, swerving between lanes, and walking off the sidewalks. This creates serious safety risks for our kids, drivers, and buses.
Please review these quick safety rules with your child today:
Walkers: Stay on the sidewalks at all times.
Bicycle Riders: Ride on the far right side of the road with traffic, move in a straight line without swerving, obey traffic signals, and always wear a helmet.
Crossing Streets: Always look left, right, and left again before crossing any street, and use crosswalks whenever available.

Students learned what respect means and what it looks and sounds like in our school each day. They even got to watch a fun skit demonstrating respect in action and how our choices can make others feel valued, included, and appreciated. 🎭✨
