🌍💚 World Mental Health Day – October 10 💚🌍
At Central Intermediate School, we believe that mental health matters just as much as physical health — for our students, staff, and families.
Today, we remind our school community that:
✔️ It's okay to talk about your feelings
✔️ It's okay to ask for help
✔️ It's okay to take a break
Let’s support one another with kindness, empathy, and understanding — not just today, but every day. Together, we can help create a world where mental health is prioritized and stigma is replaced with support. 💬🧠💙

🗓️ This Month’s Trait: RESPONSIBILITY! 🧠💪
Time to step up and show what it means to be responsible — from turning in homework on time 📚 to owning our actions and helping others when we can! All month, we’ll be looking for students who demonstrate this. 👀✨ Here, Mrs. Jacob's class of 5th graders are practicing responsibility by transferring Legos from one end of the line to another; they discussed the importance of working carefully and safely rather than rushing.

🫡 Showing Some Major R-E-S-P-E-C-T! 🫡
Each month, we're shining a spotlight on a different character trait and celebrating the students who truly embody it. 💫 In September, we learned all about respect — treating others right, listening up, and spreading good vibes everywhere! 💬✨ We proudly recognized and celebrated the respectful rockstars in our school with a Clap Out and Donut treat! 🎉 #RespectTheRespectful #CharacterChampions #TitanPride

Missing "one day" or "one morning/afternoon" of school may not seem like a big deal for your student if they aren't sick, but look at why it may be a bigger deal than they think. Those times away from school add up in so many other ways! "Chronic absenteeism" is a phrase we don't typically hear in conversations, but it has such an impact on our students and our schools that we should take a moment to look at what it is! Check out this infographic!

We not only care about our students, but also about YOU, caregivers & staff! Students can get overwhelmulated (overwhelmed & overstimulated), but so can YOU! Be sure to take care of yourself so you can be the best for your student(s) too. We know it's hard when you have a lot to juggle, but here are a few simple ways you could care for yourself over the next few weeks. Challenge yourself to pick one or two to do for YOU - care for yourself doesn't have to be expensive or take long but it sure can help you reset if you prioritize it once in a while.

Our 5th grade students had the opportunity to attend the Warren-Henderson Farm Bureau Progressive Agriculture Safety Day last week. Our students learned about safety when it came to: fire, chemicals, animals, ATVs, online safety, seatbelts, electrical lines, and railroad crossings.
A huge thank you to all the bus drivers, speakers, sponsors, and volunteers!

Learning isn't always sitting at a desk all day with paper and a pencil (ok, or a Chromebook) listening to a teacher. Look at some of the fun and creative ways our 4th and 5th grade students have been learning while engaging with each other!
